92. Philip Chawner
This family are an embarrassment to Chawners everywhere.
Philip Chawner and his family have fallen to the bottom of the social pile. They have not had any paid work for many years, preferring to live off welfare, and all of them have gargantuan appetites. By 2007, the family had admitted 17 offences of rowdiness. Since then there have been an additional 134 allegations of nuisance behaviour, including playing loud music and threatening language directed towards their neighbours, who describe them as 'The Neighbours From Hell'. They have been evicted from their council home twice in Lancashire.
Philip is the father of Emma Chawner the youngest member of the family, who weighs more than a baby elephant. She was born in 1989 in Taunton, Somerset. Emma achieved notoriety when she auditioned for the X- Factor television talent contest show in 2007 thinking she had what it took to be an X Factor star but instead became a national laughing stock over her hopeless mewlings, and morbid obesity. Undeterred by the judge’s negative comments, Emma has auditioned a total of three times, once with her morbidly obese sister Samantha in a double act. Again receiving negative comments from the judges. They have since been the subjects of a reality television series with their long term work-shy welfare claimant obese parents, leaving themselves open to ridicule, and the nation flabbergasted. In a recorded interview a dietitian, can be heard asking Audrey Chawner 'what is a healthy, tasty food which is low in calories...' to which her response is. "trifle". When Emma was asked in an interview ‘for what are the Chawners famous for’, she answered ‘for being fat’.
In 2012 Philip Chawner and his daughters were each convicted of using threatening behaviour and terrorising a vulnerable and elderly lady. They were conditionally discharged for 12 months but ordered to pay their victim £90 compensation for the mental trauma she endured, and £80 court costs apiece.
101. Emma Louise Chawner
Achieved celebrity status and notoriety when she auditioned for the X- Factor television talent contest show and sang ‘My Heart Will Go On’. She also has sang with her sister Samantha in a double act. Undeterred by the judges negative comments, Emma has auditioned a total of three times.
